Role: Fire Engineer
Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Full Time
Role Overview:
As an Intermediate Fire Engineer, you will report directly to the Director in charge. This autonomous role involves full interaction with clients, project managers, and internal/external design teams to deliver complete design documentation for commercial projects — from concept through to construction.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Client briefing, budgeting, and reporting
- Sketch design and full design documentation
- Representing Aston Consulting throughout construction
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on a variety of commercial projects
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost-effective, pragmatic fire safety engineering solutions
- Liaise and negotiate with relevant authorities on behalf of clients
- Deliver coordinated building services engineering documentation
- Carry out inspections of buildings
- Conduct CAD drafting and computer simulations for fire and egress scenarios
- Undertake continued professional development
Essential Criteria
- Fire Services Engineering Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fire Services Engineering (commercial buildings)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
- Working knowledge of electrical concepts, computers, and software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (highly regarded but not mandatory)
